2004 Silverado SS

Just bought it last friday. had it 1 week and the rear brakes squeek. been squeakin ever since i took it home. took it back to the dealership the next day they kept it for a day and said they did this and that but could not find out what was squeaking. they said it was better now, to try it for a couple more days that it should clear up since it was all new, perhaps it has to 'break in'. Is this correct? Its not metal on metal, just that annoying 'squeaking' you get kinda like when your breaks get overloaded with dust and its constant. stops when i break, continuous non stop on normal driving conditions. Any input appreciated. thanks.

Check the stupid parking brake shoe to see if it is dragging. Also check the runout of the drum surface for the parking brake. I had this problem and found that the drum ran out so much that it couldn't be trued. Lynn
