The switch and the key are two different items, you can replace the switch without changing the lock cylinder. You might need a new lock cylinder, it will come with a new set of keys.

As stated the switch and the key cylinder are two different things...But the cylinder will more than likely not come with a key....You should have a passlock anti theft deterrent sensor in your key cylinder housing ...In order to swap them to you need to recode the new key cylinder using the same key and then reprogram the passlock module or the bcm will not allow the truck to start......If your not having problems starting it ...The cheapest thing to do first is to have another key cut.....Even if you replace the cylinder it may do the same thing if the key is worn out.....most of the time if it was your cylinder you would have troubles getting it to turn or have a passlock problem....But i bet its just the key...
