My Transfer Case needs replacing. I have a good deal on a rebuilt model and there are plenty of used ones available. Any thoughts on which way to go?

If it's a good rebuild with a new chain and tensioner, I would use it. Used is very often a crap shoot.

I decided to go with the rebuilt. It is considerably more money than the used ones available. I would rather go with the unit recommended by my mechanic. If the used one craps out even though it's guaranteed, I'm sure the labor would not be. Thanks
