Bigger Tire On Stock Rims

04' 2500 HD 245/75/16 Next tires I`d like to be a little bigger. Factory`s are so tiny. Will a 265/75/16 fit on my stock wheels with no problems?

Thanks, Bill

Will fit? Yes...Be a proper fit? No...figuring your stock wheels are 6.5's.

A 245 is a 6-7in rim and a 265 is a 7-8in rim rating. I would consider an 8 inch rim for a 265 as the standard all around width.

For the best ride - Tire section width x 70% = rim width For a balance between handling and ride - tire section width x 80% = rim width For the best handling and tread life - tire section width x 90% = rim width

I would NEVER run(or even recommend) a rim at all narrower than the tread width...which does vary from between brands and tread designs. I am running 33x10.5-15's on 15x10's...GREAT handling, long tread life, gets a bit crisp on choppy roads though, but HEY, it IS a HD 3/4T Truck!!! I actually can use the entire tread width.

I am running a little over 90% of the section width, but it is all around awesome in performance, wear, and looks! Like everything else in life, it comes down to preference and cost...
