Help with info on a 454 Chevy engine

A freind pulled a 454 out of a motorhome to replace one in his pickup. (kinda off topic I know but...) He'd like any info anyone can give hime on these engines. Both the engines have heads that seem to be marked as "Hi Perf". Pics here:

the truck casting reads GM12T mfg 1975; the RV; GM(I?)T mfg 1978

Both have 4 bolt main bottom ends. Are these particularly rare or desirable engines? Would putting one in a farm truck be a waste?

Any help, hints, or comments wold be appreciated.

Thanks!

hmmm....Heads came in either square or oval port versions. Generally they make good powerplants for trucks that pull loads....plenty of torque. They tend to get poor gas mileage though. We had one in a Suburban...it got 11 miles city and ll.3 highway....and 10.8 pulling a 23 foot travel trailer. I kept looking back to make sure the trailer was there. If I was going to pull a load often I'd use the 454....for general use go with a 350.

Nothing to write home about, Fairly generic 454. But it seems your heads are different.
