Hot Malibu

1995 3.1 some times runs hot,the tempgoes up and down,heater blows hot air then cold.put in new manifold gasket.still does same thing.its like theirs an air pocket in it.tried bleeding air from radiator.changed waterpump,themastate.any ideas what im missing? thanks.

Does the exhaust have a "sweet" smell? Do you top-off the coolant reservoir very often? If so, these clues, combined with those you gave, are the earmarks of a blown head gasket.
