PING: Ian

Ian,

A lot of talk on the news group pertaining to Dex-cool is to use only distilled water when mixing. Is this a common practice at the dealer ships? And is this really necessary?

Thanks

We don't do this. Probably has a bit to do with the fact that our water quality in Calgary is fairly good. I think that it would be a good thing to use distilled water, but certainly not necessary. I've never used distilled water in my own cars, and frankly, I've never used distilled water when filling my own batteries. Can't say that I've noticed any higher failure rate by doing this.

Thanks Ian, I just wanted to get a professionals opinion as what the normal was. My thoughts were it's probably not necessary but with the Dex-cool being involved I felt better asking.

Thanks

certinally no professional, but in my area we have alot of mineral in our water, so i always use distilled water when refilling. for flushing i'll use hose water flush it with distilled, drain and fill again with 50/50

Yes, and yes. Ian ======== ========

Ian is an 11 year old computer hacker that has accessed the GM online data base.

He sold all us the pass code for $5 each. Whenever GM reboots to stop the hackers......Ian simply updates us all for another $1 each, it seems to usually happen around Christmas.

quite an enterprising little feller ....aye??

If you read the NG often enough, you'll notice times when it seems "brain farts" have taken over the guys thinking processes in here. Then a few days later the answers to some of the most difficult symptoms seem to be all right on the mark.

It's during the "brain fart" period that Ians attempting to rehack the GM site........ cuz don't none of us in here have a clue how to fix anything on a car, and Gawd's the only one that's over the age of 17 in here....and he don't ever come around less'n we get to acting too rawdy or it seems a Gremlin is in the NG. We've got some Guesser's here that refuse to pay Ian's extortion fees, but as with a Doc, the charges reflect the service. It's NoBull that to be King in the midst of such a group as this, one would BeRet the Chase of all the info that's needed to answer all the questions pertaining to all the different symptoms posted in here. There are times that A dair is put forward to substantiate the basis of the info provided for a repair by one of us. We have worked togeather here long enough to get beyond the name calling, fact tossing, and out and out flaming that you'll find in other NG's that make them seem as if "the Devil" himself was in their midst. And.....now that we all know that Ian has sold the pass code to each us....we know we're all perty much on the same playing field. You will come to find in this NG... that there are no "Vin Diesal" standouts in this NG...though there is some XXXX lanquage.

in closing....know this...

None of us tell's a lie....

a few of us are 8-up with ambition...

on occasion you may get T-Boned wih a flame....

but you'll never,ever,never....get what you didn't ask for.....

:)

so..... feel assured that everything we tell you is true, or at least is offered in good intention.

LOFL!

The hurricane must have made the reefer extra potent and gave it hallucinogenic qualities?
