Remembered something else too

Also on that same Blazer...as Im driving down the road the 4x4hi light automatically turns on. Does this mean I am cruising around in 4 wheel?? When I stop I can put it in neutral and get the light to shut off eventually. Is there any way to tell if Im in 2 or 4 wheel drive?? Thanks again.

Dude, if the light is on you should be worried, you need a friend or a mirror. you need to roll SLOWLY, and look under the vehicle (any safe way) as its rolling. if the front driveshaft is turning 'somthing' is locked in. could be your transfercase or it could be your hubs. sorry, i do not know what you have.... could be auto hubs, maybe you need to back up a few inches to disinguage them.

I might take it to a mechanic. Its odd because when I least expect it the damn light comes on.

dude. listen.. take your right hand, put it on your transfer case gear shift select lever put your truck in 2-H , go get your mom or your girl friend and have them pull the truck forward and back. A few inches will tell you all you need to know, fix your gaze on your front drive shaft from the passenger side of the vehicle if the front drive shaft turns (Then) take it to a mechanic. if the front drive shaft is not moving it is no big deal. if it was me i would want to know exactly wether or not i was locked in or not by using commen sence and not some stupid light.. if you insist on knowing what your truck is doing by the silly light the sencer is most likely in need of adjustment and is located under the T-case gear select linkage ... it should come into 'contact' when you are shifted in 4-H or 4-L

Thanks....I put it on some jack stands myself and everything checked out. On the 92 there is no selection for 2 wheel drive. You have to select 4hi until the light shuts off. Then your in 2 wheel. I dont believe its in 4 wheel when im rolling because if that light came on and it did switch over I should feel some sort of jolt that signifies it and i never did. Thanks again

Try this. In a clear parking lot. Come to a dead stop. Put the shifter in park. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left stop. Have someone sit in the truck and put it in reverse then drive. If it's in

2wd it should move with ease. if it's in 4wd it should almost sit still. Charles
