Surburban Tire Wear

Both front tires have developed uneven wear on the inside tread. What is causing that?

Alignment is out, worn ball joints, worn tie rods, worn/broken springs, lack of rotaion, bent control arms, bent frame, etc, etc, etc.

A good start would be a trip to the alignment shop, have the front end lined up and have the front suspension checked out. If it's been awhile since you rotated your tires, have that done too. Unless of course there is a problem, then have that fixed first.

My first guess is worn out shocks

Yep. At 96K miles I should have suspected, (but didn't). Got some new Monroe Sensatrac shock absorbers and the tires are already showing signs of reduced "cupping" of inner tread.
