The vacuum operated switch on the transfer case of an 91 S-10

Drove up to the snow yesterday and found the 4WD system not engaging at all....(s--t!)
Front drive shaft is rotating....so tracked the problem back from the
front diff shift cable thru the diaphragm back to the switch...Ran out ideas today but will try using a mighty-vac to bypass the switch tomorrow and also check the vacuum source hose....
Anyone had a similar switch problem?
It looks easy to replace or is there some kinda trap involved in it?

No, it just unscrews to get it out, and screws back in to install. Nothing fancy there.
