96' A4 Light for blower speed

How and how tough changing this bulb / diode?. The light for cabinet temperature (next to it) was dead and I tapped on its screen and it came back to life; unfortunately this does not work with the blower speed light.
can you get to it from behind the consol, or you have to take the whole panel out.
Thanks,
Tony

You have to take the A/C Control head out of the console to get to the bulbs at the rear of the unit. You need a set of radio removal tools to take the radio out first because the retaining screws for the trim panel are hidden behind it. Once you have removed the trim panel there are two 4mm allen-head screws holding the A/C Head on. It's not necessary to disconnect the radio to do this job, although a bit awkward, but then you won't have to recode it. Be very with the trim insert prying gently with a small plastic spatula around the edges until the retainers release. Easy to crack!                                          best of luck
