It is strictly speaking an MoT failure though, as are most of the centrally mounted screen sat navs. Yes I've had mine fail for a MagicTree in the past too, strangely enough it's never been for an MoT with one since, generally when I've had them, I've hung them from the rear hangers since too.
If they just take if, then they aren't teaching you about the failure, if they just pass it, then they are breaking the law in passing it.
Yes, I know its a failure but these guys just don't help themselves in the real world. A friend of an MOT tester said its to get their failure quotas up.
When I lower the sun visor it covers 1/3 of my view. I can legally drive
24/7 with it in that position and would most probably not be taken into account if I had an accident. Had I left it down on the MOT day the tester would have moved it up.
Talking to a fellow worker, his car went for MOT and he informed the station/garage that one side light has blown and could they replace it before the MOT. Yes was the reply. When he went back to pick up the car they failed it on the light and issued a VT30, replaced it, then issued the Pass. Needless to say he was really pissed with them.
