Blue tooth in A6

My dealer built a blue tooth carkit in my 2004-A6. Apperntly, he didn't find a appropriate way to guide the cable to the dashboard. He decided to cut a corner of a dummy-switch and guided the cable thrue there! Not very proffesional I think. I tried to find a picture of a dashboard with a better solution. Anybody?

What exactly do you want the bluetooth for? If all you want is wireless handsfree for a cell-phone than Jabbra makes a really nice kit for under $200. It comes with the wireless headset and a bluetooth module that connects to your phone. Put the headset in your ear and you get wireless handsfree anywhere within 30 feet of the phone.

What carkit was this? I got a CARK-112 in my Audi 100 and it looks rather good. If you give me until tomorrow I can take a picture and post on a webserver close to you.

The button is placed on the dash, just left to the row of other buttons

The micrphone is placed in the ceiling so that the cable is hidden above the lining of the roof.

The button and the microphone is the only things visible of the CARK-112, and the CARK-112 itself is hidden under the dashboard above the pedals. Hope the images is of any use to you.

If it were me I'd be looking for a can of black spray paint for that button, it doesn't fit the look of the rest of the console at all.

As Scott also mentioned: the color should be black. Mine is also grey, which does not match the black dashboard. Cable is fitted nice though..... Better then mine.

Thanks for the effort, Scandinavion friend.

True - it is rather glaring, but from the outside it is hardly noticable, and the function was more important than the form. It's even mounted up side down.

I guess a better solution would be to route the cable from the carkit to a identical switch as those on the console as the button is just pressed and released to initiate or end a telephone call.

Not sure if it is worth the effort though.

I got my carkit fitted by a car audio specialist, they are usually very good at hiding cables and stuff within a car. Might be a solution. As for the black/grey issue - look at my reply to Scott

No problem.
