My 2000 A6 2.7T suddenly developed a loud racket coming from the heater fan. At the lowest speed, the noise is barely noticeable, but at high speed the racket is intense. It sounds like its badly out of balance or the blades are banging into something. Of course, it's out of warrenty. Does this sound like something a local mechanic could handle? The dealer is 75 miles away and is not totally reliable.
