Is ETKA available (legally) to us common folk, for a reasonable price?

Doug, I believe that it's around the price of a "seat" for AutoCAD - in the thousands of dollars. If you asked the parts guy at your local VW shop he'd probably tell you how much they paid. Cheers! Steve Sears

Don't think it is available to "common" folk...think only the dealers get access to it.

I have a "backup" copy which I bought for a hefty sum...about £50. Worth every penny though as it displays diagrams along with part numbers. You can also do word searches. Have you ever been to an Audi parts department? ETKA is the actual software they use to locate parts.....essential bit of kit.

ETKA has some drawbacks. Like .... try looking up some part numbers for the 1978 5000 USA model. Several numbers are dropped despite the illustration still being on the ETKA. Audi made this same mistake with later dated fiche. Absolute stupidity.

Now, Joe, you did not leave me any way to contact you directly. I am interested in purchasing the early 5K fiche but not for a princely sum as I am just looking up something for a friend in Greece with a Coupe S who wants to "Americanize" his early "5000", euro version car.

and to "vw-stuff" I would like to say ..... your comment is rather rude.

Thanks, Bruce Toski
