330xi to be precise... but did they have less horsepower in 2001 than 2002??? other differences? thanks

September '01 production for the face/arselift, which would be model year 2008 in the US for all I know. Look at the build date - that will tell you (not the date it was registered or ///marketed). Six-speed gearbox for 330i (and 320d, 330d and 325i SMG) came into production March '03. 325ti had a six-speed 'box from beginning of production.
