HELP Wheel Corrosion - '02 530i sport wheels

I just purchased an '02 530i which was orginally leased on the east coast, (I'm in the SF Bay Area). The car is in excellent shape with only 28k miles on it.

The only problem, the sport alloy wheels have ALOT of corrosion on them. These are the original OEM BMW 17" wheels 8Jx17 style-42. The BMW Factory Engineer looked at them at the dealership and says they won't do anything to help us. (The car still has about 6 months left on the factory warrenty.)

Questions:

Any hope of getting BMW to make good on BADLY corroded 3 year old wheels ?

Anybody have corrosion problems with these rims ?

Any way to restore the rims either by myself or have a pro-shop fix them ? (Any place in the Bay Area/East Bay ?)

Thanks, Steve
