Can any one tell me how the shifter handel comes off without brakeing it.thank`s for your help. 1989 cavalear

get a mirror.....and some form of a pick...hold mirror in front of shifter and look for the horizontal slot. In the slot you'll find what looks like a big staple...dig behind the center and pull it out.... the handle should now be able to be removed...... Stan
