Looking for advice on 73 Camaro RS project

I have a chance to pickup a 73 Camaro RS with a lot of spare parts. The car has a 402 custom built up motor with 3500 miles on it, transmission is high end, custom racing perfomance frame, suspension is redone, disc brakes on front, and it runs well. The car could use a paint job but was redone in the late 80's. No bondo at all and a small bit of rust behind the back wheel. Car has original Z28 rims and interior needs seat covers and a carpet kit. What kind of price can I expect is acceptable for buying the project as it is owned by a friend of the family. The hood is custom with a raised scoop facing the driver.

Pricing a car without good pics is pretty subjective. I live in northern California, and smogproof Camaros are like gold here. That said, there isn't a lot of value in the car itself. I'm a first-gen guy, but I wouldn't pay more than a few thousand, if that. You should ask to see the reciepts for the high end parts if you're thinking of buying it. Go fast parts really don't add much value to a car without good provenance, and even then, the value they add is only a fraction of their retail price. For example, I have put about 30 thousand dollars into the powertrain of a 63 vette I inherited as a basket case that I'm now working turning into a prostreet. Glide, World 540, 8-71, Carillos, SS brakes, thousands upon thousands in sheetmetal and welding, and a dinged-up glass body (most expensive part saved for last). Because it isn't stock, the car is only worth about 25k here on it's best day.

Good luck!
