Nitto 555R setup (help w/ drag times)

You can see the "full disclosure" of my drag times in my '97 Formula below. As you can see my best time was a 13.9 back in January (nice cool air for Augusta, GA 60's). On all of these runs except my last trip to the track on 7/31 I was running cheap bridgestone/firestone Potenza tires. Every time I left the line the tires were audibly spinning. The shift to second made them bark.

My shock and dismay came when I bit the bullet and bought a pair of Nitto 555R's to put on the rear. Having run on the Potenza's the week before, I expected to take a couple tenths off just by getting the tires to hook-up. Much to my shock, my quarter mile times were much worse. After several runs I found the guys that installed the tires had put 44 PSI in them (throw those times out).

A guy running a Camaro SS said he ran them with 22PSI. I dropped the pressure and turned-in a 14.519. Best run of the night, but still slower than the 14.4's I ran on the Potenza's one week earlier.

Does anybody have any suggestions for the setup of the Nitto 555R tires? Any other suggestions to improve the quarter on my street ride would be appreciated!
