'05 K1500 Tires

I'm looking at replacing my stock tires (265/70/17) with something larger and was wondering what my options are. I'm wanting the Goodyear MT/R's in 285/70/17 or preferably 305/70/17. Has anyone tried either of these sizes on an '05 Crew Cab Silverado w Z71. I'm willing to cut the wheel-well liners and raise with torsion adjustments but would like to avoid the purchase of a lift.

You may be able to get away with the 285's, maybe, but not the 305's. Cranking the torsion adjustments isn't the best thing to do. For one your not going to get much of a lift out of it, and if anything you'll screw up your alignment and may not be able to correct it all and change how it rides. You could possibly go with getting a Body lift. Cheap way to go. Alignment wont be screwed up.

Did we just talk about this like 3 or 4 days ago? I just raised the front of my 04 4x4 with torsion keys and put 295/70/16 Nitto's on it and they rub just a little. I had to cut the front air dam just a little. This was cheaper than a lift kit and got me about 3.5 inches more of ground clearance. If I were to do it all over again I would go with the 285's. Make sure to do a front end alignment after you get it raised.
