1992 Chevy Blazer stops running all of a sudden....

Can run the blazer in idol for a couple hours, no problems... but driving it ... at about 60 - 65 miles just stops.

First time it happened there was a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse, turned the key, fuse blew again. Had the blazer towed to a garage. After sitting about a day, they replaced the fuse, started up right up. Drove for about 60 miles, died again. Same blown fuse, replaced fuse to blow it again. Towed again, replaced the computer. Runs fine in idol for over 3 hours no problems! Drove it again about 60 miles another fuse blew (different fuse).

To sum it up ... it appears that it can idol for hours, just not drive. After driving a distance ... fuse blows, once it sits for some time and the fuse is replaced all is good for another 60 or so miles.

Recently had the ac unit changed. The garage that did it has looked the whole thing over and cant find any thing wrong. No short. Nothing grounding out. Just nothing.

Any suggestions????

There was a similar problem posted before. Try a search to find it. I think it was a bad alternator, over charging, or something like that.

*Prior to changing the computer the fuse that blew out was the ECM1* ** *After changing the computer the fuse that keeps blowing is the ECM2*

had a similar problem with my grandmother's neon. turned out to be a tiny bare spot on a wire that would ground out on the cv axle when she hit a bump. If i were you, i would check the wiring harness for any exposed area that could have a similar problem. Good luck.
