Start by buying a truck that's 1000 years newer. :-)
you are going to need to get the error code read out. Finding someone to do that might be a problem. I can say from experience that most auto parts stores (Pep boys, autozone) that provide free read out do not handle the ABS module. The dealer may be your only choice.
THere are lots of reasons for the ABS light to light and an error code is the first step toward diagnosis
put emergency brake on one click this disables the lights. u need to leave the emergency on all the time.
If it is a 94 your in luck. You can pull the code yourself. You just need a paperclip. You need to jump across from terminal A (Ground terminal in upper right of ALDL connector) to terminal H (Bottom row second terminal from the left side). Put the jumper wire in place and turn the key ON (not start). Now count the flashes of the ABS light. It will flash the trouble code the same way the SEL will give you the engine codes (flash-flash--------flash-flash-flash be read as a code
23, it will repeat each code 3 times) Get the code and post it OR look it up online and see what you have.MotorsForum website is not affiliated with any of the manufacturers or service providers discussed here. All logos and trade names are the property of their respective owners.
