1996 Suburban AC/Vent/Heater fan weak?

The fan on my climate system seems really weak. When I turn the dial to one or two, hardly anything comes out, 3-4-5 have a little bit, but not much. It makes noise like the fan is blowing, it's just not pushing any air. This is really strange, because the rear controls/fan work fine.

Any thoughts? I checked all the fuses that I could find relating to the ac/heater.

I had a similar problem with my '96 Sierra P/U. Turned out the control module in the dash was shot. $280 dollar dealer fix.

If you can hear the moter speeding up as you increase the fan speed but dont feel any more air coming out, could be two things the fan is slipping on the motor shaft or you have a stuck door in the ductwork

Im not sure if a 96 has a filter, but if it does its most likely plugged, check the manual for a cabin air filter.

Thanks for the inputs, I'll take a look at the fan itself, and check if it has an air filter. About those doors though, how would I get at them?

a stuck door in the ductwork is the problem I've had for 3 years, but if I leave the fan on low for a couple of minutes you can hear the door open and then I can turn the fan to a higher speed. Yes I am lazy could fix it, but why bother util it won't work all.

So, I finally got around to looking at the HVAC system, the door appears to operate fine.. but the air is still week out the face vents. The floor works fine as do the rear vents. Blasted face vents!
