"change engine oil" light comes on as soon as I start the engine on my 2001 chevy venture and stays on for about 30 to 50 secondes and the goes off. I have change the oil but still comes on for 40 seconde and goes off. What can I do to correct this problem? ps. I always use the recommended oil for the engine.
If the light stays on more than 5 seconds, it means you did not re-set the light after you changed the oil. How to do this is in your owners manual, but if I recall correctly, you turn the ignition key on but do not crank the engine, then press on the gas pedal 7 times within 30 seconds and the change engine oil light should blink several times and then go out.
