89 s10 door hinge replacement

I have a 1989 S-10 with a door hinge problem. The top door hinge was never lubed properly and the pin or sleeve has rusted through. The door droops now and is hard to close. Has any else had this problem? How is fixed, how hard to fix, how much does it cost?

Hopefully just Buying the Bins and bushing from the Chevy dealer will fix your problem, ( VERY EXPENSIVE ) since Gm Engineers didnot forsee the problem of Hinge pins wearing out and Had ALL s10 Hinges Welded to the Body as well as to the Doors

The bronze bushings are wore out. Most all parts stores carry these as well as new hinge pins. Special tools needed, a good floor jack and a block of wood with a towel wrapped around it is handy to support the door, and an extra set of hands to steady it. hammer and a brass drift to knock the old pins out. Bushings tap in with a small hammer, hinge pin the same. 20 minutes per door. The hardest thing is getting the "spring" on the door stop back on.

You got to be joking about the cost, the bushings are less than a dollar a piece at the dealer. A lot cheaper to replace a bushing and a pin then to have to replace a complete hinge that in the old days didn't have replaceable pins or bushings even when they did bolt on. Hell of a lot easier to change to. Whitelightning
