'95 S-10 Fuel Tank Removal Question

Impact wrenches are just about the best things going. I've got a cheap electric from Harbor Freight ($40) but I really love it.

I?ve had the problem with the surging gas gauge... thankfully whilst still under full warranty. The dealership ate that one.

Now... my fuel pump is making a horrible whine, and it wants to cut out on me when trying to give it gas. It just bogs down and dies. My first suspicion was the fuel filter being clogged with crap. Replaced it and no real change. fuel pump still whining loud as hell.

I?ve removed my bed this evening... awaiting my next paycheck before dropping about 250.00 on the new fuel pump. It was only 8 bolts holding on the bed. And I took them all off with an 18mm socket and ratchet, and 18mm wrench. EASY. Just remove your tag light plugs before you pull the bed off. Oh, one more thing.. take the little bolts off the gas (2 of them) filler hose assembly. Finally, get some buddies to help you lift that heavy thing up and set it aside and Voila!!! There?s your fuel pump right there...

Now wasn?t that easier to than dropping the tank?

Yes. It sure was Captain obvious. 8)
