Some time ago (February) I posted this:
***************Today I brought it in for an oil change and service, and had them take another look at it.
The response was that there was some road salt on the carpet near the gas pedal, so I must be dragging it into the cab with me. They then proceeded to tell me that I should clean it and monitor.
Duh. That's what had been done and why it was brought back in.
Between the pedal area (to the right and in front of the seat) and the seat belt (to the left and rear of the seat) there is no other salt accumulation. Not on the seat, not under the seat. There is no way the salt could have traveled from one spot to the other short of teleportation. Even moving air currents in the truck would not take the salt that distance without leaving deposits elsewhere along the way. And when I get in the truck, I don't exactly bang the snow off of my boots behind the seat. So you can imagine what I think of the response.
If anyone has any experience with this problem, I would love to email some digital pictures for opinions. Or if someone has access to TSB detail - I know there are multiple TSB's on this topic, just don't know what they say. I need something to go back to them with to get them interested in tracking down the problem.
Thanks in advance for any opinions.
