Miles aren't everything - but condition is. If the Engine and Tranny are good most everything else can be easily done in your driveway, or a shop you trust. I have 180k on my 96 Sonoma (4.3L). It doesn't use a drop of oil, and the oil stays clean. Thhe tranny is just fine. Have had to replace the Drive Shaft, and do breaks. And may need to do the front end soon - but for the price - fine! it is in good condition, runs great plus i am willing to have some work done on it later...the steering feels different compared to my dodge truck...it easily responds to a slight turn in the wheel...more play perhaps...is that normal?...==RC

I drove two Astro's (same as Safari), a 1986 and a 1989 and put over 230,000 miles on both of them - and still sold them each for over $1000. I spent no money on them other than normal wear-out and maintenance. I highly recommend that vehicle. Of course with that high of mileage, it will not be as powerful as new, so if you are thinking of heavy towing, look elsewhere.

============== Its just different than your dodge. If it goes straight down the road you are probably ok.
