how difficult to recharge AC on my 1995 CK

Subject: how difficult to recharge AC on my 1995 CK

I see kits in WALMART and other places.

Is it rocket science to recharge the AC?

Is there a fitting/valve I sceww the recharge kit on to ?

Is it difficult to find ?

I have located a cyliner at the rear of the engine compartment which says "use only RU" something or other and says "under presssure."

Any hints/help appreciated.

Could be R12 but my guess is it is 134a since its a 95...But the thing is are you sure it needs charged.???????Does it blow cold sometimes ???Not at all????Why i ask is if you over charge is like not having any at all ...meaning will build up too much pressure and cut off the compressor....If it blows sometimes may be a retricted orifice..Bad control head...Bad cycling or high pressure switch....Etc..Now do you have any readings? Does you compressor even come on? Back to your question no its not hard to do but if you have a leak and all your freon is gone you need to vacuum out the system and get all the air out of it...How about this let me know what its doing and we will go from there......
