installing a temp gauge...help!

hey its me again. i have an 85 s-10 with the 1.9 in it. i want to put an aftermarket coolant temp gauge in it, but i have never done that before. the coolant temperature sensor in the intake manifold is a two-wire connection. the guy i bought the truck off of swapped heads on it, including the intake. the truck is wired for only one wire connection, and it only has a light that tells you that the engine is engine is hot enough to destroy the aluminum head. please help!

If this is a computer contolled engine there are usually 2 sensors, one for the ecu one for the dash gage. The ecu sender has 2 wires, the gage sensor has one, look for that one. May be on the cyl. head, or on the block.
