Tips on carburetor Rochester

Hi

A friend of mine have a Chevy '56 short block 256 ci V8 engine with a two barrell carburetor with the following reference number on a small green aluminium plate:

7027114 C7 CL

Casted labels are: GM 2 Jet Rochester Made in USA RTP

Does it exist repair or maintenance kits for this carburetor? Which parts are normally included in such kits? Do you also have urls to good webstores selling such kits (and also rebuilt carbs)

Thanks for any help on this

regards

Geir

It's been a while since I've done this, but any major auto parts or jobber stores should be able to get this kit. It's one of the most common of all the GM 2 barrels, used for many, many years with slight mods. You get all new gaskets, acccelerator pump spring and piston, O rings, float gauge, and other small parts that degrade and wear over time. You do not get new floats, needles, etc. They used to be in the $12-18 range when I last bought one a long time ago.
