Towing with 2004 Silverado

I recently purchased a 2004 Silverado,5.3L V8 1500 4x4 Extended Cab Short bed truck. The owner's manual says that you must have at least

500 miles on the truck before towing anything, and then, after that, for the first 500 miles that you tow anything, you must keep the speed at 50mph or less. What is the reasoning for keeping the speed at 50 or less?

I understand that its called "break-in period", but whats the mechanical logic behind it?

It allows all the mass produced parts to wear in together without severe pressure. Any high spots get polished off,and the parts fit together properly.

My believe was to break in the differential gears.

No, I had about 1000 miles on it before I towed a trailer.
