Turn signal keeps making noise?

Hi, i got a 2001 Blazer. When i turn on the left or right signal then turn them off, the ticking noise wont stop. The lights work fine on the dash and the outside of the car. Its just the noise to let u know they r on. Sounds like its coming from the dash on the passenger side?

Any info would be appriciated.

thanks,

It's the flasher under the dash. Did it all of the sudden start making a lot more noise? Or was it just replaced by someone? It could be failing, or if it was replaced someone installed one that is louder. You can get Louder ones so you can hear it and know it's on and not be driving down the road for miles with your turn signal on. They're pretty simple to replace. turn on your Signal and look under the dash, you should be able to see it and feel it clicking. Unplug the little Canister like thing and replace it with a new one. Make sure you buy one of the quite ones if that's what you want.

It's the turn signal on the steering column.

I have a 99 that does the same thing.

It is a well known problem.

Found with my 96 it was the blinker switch in the steering column. Everything was fine except the switch shorted out just enough to keep the flasher ticking. Hit a bump or wiggle the blinker arm just right and it would stop for a moment or two. Burned out the flasher before I found the issue. Bought a replacement off ebay for $75.
