VIN numbers on 1986 Chev-C10 PU ?

Left side of the dashboard:

Or left windshield pillar, just about midway up from the dashboard. It will be rusty and hard to read, in either location.

any mechanics Work Order from previous repairs that may be in the glove box

the tax office where the vehicals taxes have been paid

the vehical registration at the State Highway Department

OR........

the SMOG CERTIFICATION that you said you jest passed..............

or...standing outside the truck, look through the windshield on the drivers side, there's a little metal tag in the corner of the dash panel near the windshield.
