I'm trying to get an idea of how much it 'should' cost me to have a rebuilt engine installed in a Chevy K1500 4X4 (305, 5.0, Vortec)
Also, what would be an average costs of labor at a professional mechanic? How much 'an hour' should I be charged? Just a 'ballpark' figure is all I'm looking for.
but.....the real deal is to be found in GreenPond South Carolina.
Take Hwy 17 north to the Snyders CrossRoads cut off......... turn right at Early Branch........... pass on through Froghollow............ go bout 18 miles........ and yer gonna come to Yemassee............. take the "ole river road" north........till you hit Green Pond.
once ya'll get to Green Pond.......ask the first person you see........ for directions to the Green Pond Mercantile and Feed ..........
pull into the park'n lot.......walk around back of the build'n and yer gonna see a lean-to ...........yell out for BUBBA...........
and yer uh a gonna git the deal of yer life.
ps highly suggest have'n some class "A" homegrown, prerolled......
Its not a hard job at all. You could do it yourself. About the hardest part of the whole thing is getting the front assoc. drive components off, and back on. Complete swap should take about 5-10 hours with a stick shift... a little less with an auto trans.
You should have them change the motor mounts, and put in a new clutch if u have a standard trans. Both these parts are low cost items.
