93 3.3 Grand Caravan

I've got a small leak from the drivers side axle where it connects to the transmission. I've had the seal changed twice. I had the axle changed and I think the shaft is undersized and causing the leak between it and the seal. I wondered if anyone else has had a problem like this. I think the only solution now is to replace the half shaft. Is there a parts store that has a better axle than the others that I should use ? Also I've heard there might be a sleeve kit that fits over the shaft that would create a good seal. Again, does anyone have any experience with this sleeve ?

thanks, Nick

Thanks, the trans. guy pulled the trans. and had to replace a pump seal I believe, so I think he would have noticed these other things. The reason I think it's the axle is because the leak began right after it was replaced. My next step is the try a different axle and mic it before to see if the circumference is a little larger than the old one.

Any comment on the sleeve or parts store to shop ?

thanks, Nick

I would have the seal checked again. There is a possibility that the seal was nicked or tore when the new axle was installed.

Thanks, but we've replaced two seals already trying to determine if that was the problem. Nick
