'96 Town & Country: Heating problem. Please help!

On my '96 3.3L Chrysler Grand voyager (called Town & country in the states I believe), I have the following heating problem. After draining and flushing the coolant, the rear heating just blows cold air. I presume that air in the hoses causes this problem. Does anyone knows the right way to get rid of all the air on the heating system. Normally it should be auto-purged according to my Haynes manual. In another book they talk about a purging bolt near the termostat housing which is not available on my model.

Please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Tnx for your quick response, but I built in a new thermostat this week (in fact I replaced the two cylinder head gaskets due to a water leak at the rear cylinder head). This thermostat had already the little hole you're mentioning, so obviously that can't be the reason for my problems.

How about that, another rear cyclinder head gasket leak...

If I may ask, is it the 3.3L engine? Mileage?

Yes indeed, it's the 3.3 L engine. I now have about 110.000 KM. I already noticed that there was a small leak 20.000 KM ago, but when adding a bit of water every 2 weeks, it still ran well. Last week water temperature got too high. When checked, water was really flushing out at the rear gasket side, so I changed both gaskets.

Our 3.3L rear head gasket failed at 33,000 miles on a '98 Grand Caravan.

The failing 3.3L/3.8L rear head gasket is a problem D-C claims doesn't happen, doesn't exist.

After 171,500 miles on my '96 T&C LXi this hasn't failed yet.

Not funny at all. Try: "I Have No Idea As To What That Means" in reference to "YHGMMV". You must be related to the Mittelstaedt I went to high school with. He was also obnoxious.

IHANIATWTM would be "I Have Absolutely No Idea As To What That Means"

No matter. For the record, YHGMMV is short for

"Your Head Gasket Mileage May Vary".
