97 Intrepid overheating resolved

Replaced the Radiator and now I can't make the darn thing overheat.Apparently the Rad was partially plugged. You could run water through the old rad with a garden hose and even when it was taken apart you could see through the tubes, however after a trip to the local rad shop and a look through a new core it was apparent there was some restriction in the old rad.

Gee I wished you would have figured that out a week ago. We just lost the engine in our 1997 Chrysler LSH because it overheated. Worst thing abou tit though was our gauges never indicated to us that there was a problem, and all our fluids checked out until after the rod was thrown. :( Then the water temp gauge decided to indicate there was a problem.

It sounds like the overheating was a result of your thrown rod and not the cause of it. IOW, a new radiator would not have prevented the thrown rod.
