Paying for the name -- twice over.

Someone told me yesterday that she has to take her Lexus to a dealer quite a distance away for repairs -- at a high cost -- because the local Toyota dealer won't work on it.

Are the mechanicals of a Lexus significantly different from those of the corresponding Toyota? Aren't the differences mostly stylistic?

Are Toyota dealers prohibited by their agreements with Toyota from working on Lexuses?

Of course, why she doesn't just take it to Fred's Auto Repairs is another story.

Maybe she should trade her Lexus in on a Buick!

Buick vaulted six spots ending the 14-year stranglehold Lexus has had on first place in the J.D. Powers report.

The same think Perce posted. A Buick spokesman said that engineering and workmanship put the Buick at #1. Why couldn't other GM cars benefit from GM engineering and high paid union workers?

Are you sure that "Lexus" is second declension masculine? What if it's fourth declension? :-) :-)
