As the subject suggests, I need an alloy wheel for my Xantia 1.9TD Desire 2 estate 1998 R plate. If anyone has one or knows where I can aquire one pdq (pre owned) I'm in South Lincolnshire.
A bit of background info may be of interest. This vehicle has security wheel nuts, one on each wheel natch, and is supplied with a "key" of questionable quality. The key fell apart at the last service so I bought a new one from a Peterborough Citroen dealer for £25. At the service last week at a local service centre, not a Citroen specialist, that I have used for years, they could not remove the locking nut on the nearside rear wheel. It's well and truly rusted in. So badly that they destroyed the new key trying. I can't blame them for that, as I said the quality is bloody awful. It is possible that the only way to get the wheel off is to break it. Consider that the service interval on this car is 6000 miles which for me is about 4 months. That is when the wheel was last removed without trouble.
This is the first Citroen I've owned, and I have to say it's been the most expensive car I've ever owned. Not purchase price but running costs. At almost 140 thousand miles it goes like a dream and is in supurb condition. The ride quality is superb, I've just had new spheres fitted, but I'm on my 4th set of front discs and looking at the 5th set at the next service. It doesn't matter if these are Citroen or pattern, they don't last.
Anyway, I still need a wheel.
