C5 Radio

Can anyone offer advice on how to release the radio from the console on a C5 please. I'm hoping to install some extra gadgets! This radio has a single hole on each side and the two twin hooks I've used on other cars seem irrelevant!

Thanks Gerald

Had to remove mine to fit a non-drill mount for a car kit. It's fairly easy - just don't try to force anything that doesn't feel like it should move ;-)

If I remember rightly it was:

Pry off the plastic covers of the door lock/night driving buttons. There are Torx screws underneath. Undo these, radio slides out.

I also remove a fair bit of trim - can't recall if that was needed to get the plastic covers off, or if I did it to put in the wires back to the rear and front 12v sockets. That was AFAIR:

Silver (on mine) trim around radio, aircon etc. This bit may need to come out to remove covers. Remove ashtray - torx screw(s) in top part. Whole thing then pulls away - I think the centre air vent comes out with it.

Gearlever trim. Allows access to part of tunnel and the front 12v. Just unclips.

Centre cup holders. Remove rubber, torx screw then visible. This allows access close to the rear 12v, and you can remove the little tray behind (just pulls out) to get access the other side.

Hope this helps,
