I am trying to get a few(or more) 1960-66 Chevy/GMC truck folks together in one spot... what I call a 'get together'.
This means, folks show up at a spot in the Atlanta, Georga metro area... or a little farther out - with their trucks... and we sit arond and check out each others trucks and talk about fixing them... maintaining them... whatever. Basically, we meet other truck geeks like ourselves. I'm not trying to start a 'truck show' with trophies or judges or anything like that. Just someplace where we can meet up and maybe grab a bite to eat and talk about trucks.
Additionally, I am pondering a 'cruise'. Where we meet and assemble at Point A and then we cruise at a nice leisurely pace(obeying all laws and things) to Point B, at Point B there would ideally be something to do or see or eat. :)
So, I'm looking for 1960-66 Chevy/GMC Truck guys and gals... 1/2 ton to 2 ton(did they go as big as 2.5 ton?). If it is a Chevy/GMC truck and it runs... whether it is bone stock, slammed, chopped, hot rodded, somewhat modified... whatever... that is what I'm looking for.
I am not tryign to start a 'family' event as I'm a single guy in my late 20's... but I'm not trying to start a party either... just looking for a laid back 'sitting on the front porch' kinda attitude.
I do not have a place to gather yet... if you have any ideas, let me know. Post it here or email me. I'm looking for someplace that would be cool to a bunch of old truck showing up in their parking lot. I am looking for a Saturday noon-afternoon date.
Have a nice day!
