Austin 7 - 1930

Hello,

My parents have had an austin 7 in their garage for rather a long time and they're considering selling it.

It's a 1930 short wheelbase model, registered in 1931. It last ran in the mid 70s on the road, and has since been kept off the road in a garage. The engine's been turned over every year or so by hand with the starter handle although probably not for 5 years now. There's also a dustbin full of original parts picked up at auto-jumbles over the years. The tyres are new

- well not used but not really new, and they had some restoration done of the interior when they were last using it on the road.

I know it's a all bit vague without seeing it but any thoughts on the current value, or what would influence the value would be welcome.

Oh yes, the number plate - GT 2321 - I think. It's definately GT and a number. This might even be worth more than the car :)

Possibly, but without it the cars value is reduced. Not just due to the value of the number plate, but in the sense that it removes the cars identity. I've little idea of the cars value, but it's certainly going to be few thousand if it's reasonably rust free, and easily made roadworthy. Mike.

David ( snipped-for-privacy@keeping.anonymous.com) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

You've got to get an MOT on the Seven first...
