Coil Wire for 1969 Vette

I want to confirm the description of the wire that plugs into the center of the distributor and into the center of the coil of a '69 vette. The wire on my car has an "L" shaped boot on the end of the wire that plugs into the coil. The other end which plugs into the distributor has a straight boot. The boot that fits over the coil is larger than the boot that fits over the distributor. Is this what the wire looks like on other '69, 350/350 Vettes?

I'm asking this question because I'm having trouble finding the wire. I've even looked at some spark plug wiring sets that supposedly have the correct coil wire, and the wire does not look like what I think the correct wire should look like. In fact, I have not been able to find a wire whose boot will fit over the coil.

Assuming that I'm looking for the correct wire, can somebody tell me where I can find the wire? If not, can somebody tell me with certainty where I can find a spark plug wire set which contains the correct coil wire for a '69 vette?

Thanks, Charles

I bought just a Coil wire for my 1970 BB as you described, from Jegs ; it was an MSD brand. 800-345-4545

Dave,

I just talked with Jegs, and they told me that they found a wire where both boots are "L" shaped. And both boots are the same size. On my wire, only one boot is "L" shaped, and the "L" shaped boot is larger than the other boot.

Do you by any chance have a part number for the wire you bought?

Charles, I was mistaken ; both ends are indeed 'L' shaped. It was there number 121-84033 Coil Wire for $11.00 but both ends are 'L' . Why not contact a couple Wire Manufacturers like MSD , Moroso, etc... and ask them directly if they have the specific wire you require.

Dave,

I'll consider this.

Chuck, You could just make up a Coil Wire from parts which are offered in the Jegs catalouge : 'L' boot, straight boot, required crimp connectors, and a wire cut to size .

Dave,

Actually, I finally had to make one using an old "L" shaped boot. I'm a little worried that it will not continue to work properly. But so far so good.
