FWIW story

Today I was telling my wife that I'd like to buy a C3 convertible but pre 1973 (to get chrome bumpers). Hours later as we were driving out of our street, I had to wait for a car to pass before I could make my turn and low and behold, it was a C3 convertible with chrome bumpers (appeared to be in nice shape) just as I described hours before. I wonder what the odds of this happening on the same day? Car sure was nice looking. Any idea what a 70 to 72 convertible (automatic) model in good shape might cost? And anyone know a good corvette mechanic in the far west suburbs of Houston? My only problem with this type car as I told my wife is, it would be a Sunday car to drive around (no road trips) and she said in reply that we usually stay home on Sunday.
