head gasket not flat question

I am replacing my head gaskets for my new aluminum cyl head instal using felpro 1044 (0.51 which it calls for) I have bought 8 gaskets and every one of the new gaskets look not 100% flat near the end near the "horn" or whatever it is called due to shipping or hagning on the shelf..whatever.. . I called every machine shop and they say as long as the compression area is flat and no dents, chunks or creases/ folds then the head gasket wil be fine as it is crsuhed outwards and minor imperfections will come out.. What do you guyz think... I guess I never really looked at a head gasket to close befoere install..I just layed it on a flat surface and noticed it ever so slightly curved upwards near the horn like end. I can't believe 4 stores and every gasket looks like this or worse.. They all say it is metal and it will be fine also as long as it isn't bent to hell or chipped etc.. I'd hate to install it and it leak .. But they made me laugh when they said "oh you cnm bring it back if it leaks LOL.. no bigggie just have to resurface the heads and all as well.. no big deal.. LOL Thanx for any advice

  • * here is the curve length wise * *********** * here also not major buy enough see * 0 0 0 0 * ************** This being the horn thig lol.. freat art work eh :P

The machine shops are correct, as long as there are no kinks or creases it should be fine. You would not have to resurface the heads if the gasket leaked and you had to replace it.
