OT who has tried the floor moping robot -- wife wants to know

well the topic says it all.

my wife wants to know if anyone (or their spouses) have tried the roomba scooba or some other variant of the floor moping robots.

we have mostly hardwood with tile floor in the kitchen and bathrooms, we are going to replace the bedroom carpets with hardwood when we get done with fencing and get the floors worked into the budget. (going to be harder to do since I'm now the only one employed) so vacuums are a thing of the past for us, at least for the most part. but she really doesn't like pushing a mop, and i don't either for that matter.

I tried the roomba a year ago. It was fun to watch but really it sucked so I took it back

We have a bunch of tile probably 1500 sqft of it and ya still have to wash and vacum it.

Sorry man, here in Northern Mexico, I just throw a dollar in the street and let the illegals fight over who gets the job!

Are "illegals" in Northern Mexico Americans?

Wouldn't know, as I am in AZ, less then 30 miles from the boarder. With the proximity to the boarder and the fact that there are so many of them around here, it is refered to as such.

you ought to try to get some work out of the two i have, and yes a 3rd is on the way due in October

sorry to hear it wasn't a good product. but at least i didn't find out the hard way ;)

we use a broom and dust pan, less noise.

Q: How do you turn a dishwasher into a floor cleaner?

A: Buy her a mop.

(Hope my wife doesn't read this)

Your adolescent anti-Mexican joke was tasteless, and you wouldn't have the nerve to repeat it to one of them face-to-face.

Not anti-Mexican. Anti-Illegal-immigrant is more accurate. It's not about race so don't make it as such. Arizona and especially the far southern part being referenced has a serious problem with illegals so it is no joke.

Chris, I bought the Roomba for a friend of mine in the UK and sent it to her. She has about 1500 sq ft of large (24 x 24) high finish tile.

She loves it. It vacuums while she's at work. Picks up the tracked in dirt and cat hair. Next, she's asked for the mopping robot (I don't know the name).

I wouldn't? How the f*ck do you know as you absolutely know f*ck all about me.

So many try to make the illegal immigrant issue a race issue. I have family from Mexico and family who live in Mexico and travel there frequently. The issue is millions of illegals who want a free-ride. Those that came here legally largly don't side with these illegals.

Gee, miles, why would somebody's joke about a serious problem that is no joke appear in a mop-the-floor thread? It was about the punk's perceived superior social class. Laughing that he just throws a dollar in the street and less-fortunate Mexicans grovel over who gets to mop his dirty floors was a tasteless joke.

Bull. What part of ILLEGAL do you not understand? They are criminals and deserve nothing more than a $1.

its the scooba and my wife wants to know if its a worth wile thing(thats the bot i was asking about btw)..or at least get some feed back from people who have tried it.

I'm sorry, but beyond the dignity that any human being deserves, that is all they deserve. Any one that crawls through a tunnel, is stuffed into a trailer, climbs over a fence to enter this county is illegal, which means they have broken and violated US laws, which color it anyway you want, makes them criminals!

Ok, so maybe the comment wasn't in the best of taste, fire me like Imus!
