Fiat gives USA special 500 model

Chrysler announced earlier this month that it had started selecting outlets for Fiat?s North American return, and now Fiat has announced it has selected the first U.S. customers for its 500 city car.

Laura Soave, Head of Fiat North America, surprised Fiat fans over the weekend by making a surprise appearance at the annual convention of the Club Fiat-Lancia Unlimited. Although Soave is a long-time fan of the Fiat brand, she wasn?t there to just check out the rides.

Soave announced that Fiat?s loyal U.S. enthusiasts would be rewarded with the opportunity to reserve the first batch of special edition

500s earmarked for the U.S. Dubbed the Cinquecento ?Prima Edizione?, just 500 examples of the limited edition models are planned.

?The Fiat Cinquecento Prima Edizione was developed especially with the Fiat fans in mind,? said Laura Soave, Head of Fiat North America, who personally presented the opportunity to the Fiat aficionados. ?For over a quarter of a century, the members of this Club have kept the spirit of the Fiat and Lancia brands alive in North America through their unique and passionate support for true Italian design. We really value their loyalty, and the Prima Edizione is our gift of appreciation to these fans on behalf of Fiat North America.?

Fiat fans will be able to order the Prima Edizione in three colors ? Bianco (White), Rosso (Red) and Grigio (Gray). All Prima Edizione models will be equipped with a manual transmission and Fiat?s MultiAir 1.4L four-cylinder engine. Of course, special Prima Edizione badging will also be part of the package.
