Why would you buy the Mitchell when there are dozens of links to the GM OEM manual for free? Mitchell and Alldata are lackluster at best, so why would you want them? Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 27k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. T/A, 57k orig '84 Olds 88 Royale Bgm 2 dr, 307 "Rocket" (lol), 143k and still going....

I know this about Alldata. When you look up torque specs, it doesn't just give head bolt, main cap & rod caps. It gives all the torque spec for the motor. I recently needed specs for a late 1994 Gen 3

3.1 V6. A associate went to the shop he works for and printed me out the specs from Alldata.

For repair shops that work on majority of brands, having software that is not GM only is an advantage. Charles I have a customer that has 5 GM's, 4 Fords, 1 Chysler & 1 AMC Jeep. I do have to work on them all.

For GM, I use the SI2000 link. That is the GM factory stuff electronically. Alldata is "OK" depending on what you want. Tons of errors in there. I finally got eSI techline for 1998 to 2004. Took a while to get the CD/DVD's at a reasonable cost. I ended up buying them on E-bay from a seller in aussie-land for $30+ $5 shipping. Much cheaper then buying the factory service manuals from the dealer.

The SI Up to 1998 link was out there on the Internet. I have the full SI system at work, it's very good.

I have the shop manuals for all of my cars in paper, and I have some electronic discs I've yet to install (may get a new computer soon).

I have some later Ford CD's (through 2003) if you ever need 'em. Joe--ASE Certified Parts Specialist & 10th Ann.Club Tech Director '80 Carousel Red Turbo T/A, 27k orig. '79 "Y89" 400/4 speed 10th Ann. T/A, 57k orig '84 Olds 88 Royale Bgm 2 dr, 307 "Rocket" (lol), 143k and still going....
